Chapter 6

The door to the farmhouse kitchen opened, and Oliver glanced up as Clark walked into the house.

“Hey,” Oliver greeted.  He put down the book he had been reading.  “How is she?”

“Same as yesterday; suffering, both physically and emotionally,” Clark answered.  He bent to pet Shelby and Onyx who had wandered over to acknowledge his entrance.  “She didn’t keep anything down all day yesterday, and according to Lois, spent the night cooling her cheeks on the bathroom floor.”

“She must be so dehydrated,” Oliver said, concern filling his heart.  “Is she getting enough fluids?”

“Yes.”

“Eating crackers?”

Clark smiled.  “Trying to.”

“Taking her prenatal vitamins?”

“She’s looking after herself.  Lois went with her to her last appointment, they’ve provided some natural remedies for the morning sickness that won’t hurt the baby.”

His heart constricted painfully at having missed yet another appointment, but he nodded.  “Good.  She’s nearly at the end of her first trimester, so hopefully all that discomfort should come to an end soon.”

“Hopefully.”

Oliver swallowed.  “Is…is she still wearing her ring?”

Clark looked scandalised at the very suggestion.  “Of course she is, she never took it off!” he exclaimed.  “She’s pissed at you, but she definitely still loves you.”

“That’s a relief.”  He ruffled Onyx’s shaggy mane and geared up for the next question.

“How does she look?” he asked hesitantly.  “I know its early days, but is she starting to show?”

“Yep, she’s getting big really fast,” Clark said with a smile.  “I mean, I’m no expert, but for eleven weeks, there’s a sizeable bump there already.”

Oliver smiled, feeling regretful.  In the five weeks since Chloe had given him his marching orders, he’d spent almost every second immersed in baby books, tracking the progress of her pregnancy as closely as possible and living it vicariously through Clark’s and Lois’s verbal reports.  Chloe had to know that they were reporting back to him verbatim, and whilst she didn’t appear to have a problem with verbal feedback, he had noticed that none of them had taken any pictures of her…at least, none that they had shown him.

Clark had been very accommodating and offered him full use of the Farm since the separation.  He had also been incredibly patient in dealing with all Oliver’s never-ending questions about Chloe’s progress, for which Oliver was immensely grateful.

“I should be there for her,” he whispered.

Clark gave his shoulder a reassuring squeeze.  “At least she has Lois, so she’s not alone.”

“I’m her husband,” he said tightly.  “I’m supposed to hold her hand through all this.  I appreciate that Lois took three weeks’ vacation to be with Chloe, but it should be me holding her hair when she’s sick, me feeding her crackers when she can’t keep anything down, me rubbing her back and singing her soothing lullabies when she can’t sleep.”  He buried his head in his hands.  “God, this is killing me.”

“I know how hard this is for you, but just be patient–”

“For how much longer?” Oliver shouted, getting to his feet.  “You know me, Clark.  Patience isn’t my strong point.  I see something I want, and I go for it!”

“Exactly, and look where that’s got you!” Clark shot back.

Oliver winced at the barb and sat down again.  Onyx whined and rested his head on Oliver’s knee, fretting as he often did whenever there were any displays of temper.  Oliver soothed him and reflected on the harsh words he’d just received.

Damn it, but Clark was right.  If he’d only been a little more patient with Chloe, maybe she’d have come round on her own; but it was too late for regrets.  The damage was done, and here they were.  And with time quickly ticking by, he had a valid reason for needing to hurry things along at this point.

“Maybe if I surprised her,” he thought aloud.  “I could zip in through the balcony…”

“And destroy the fragile trust she’s spent the last five weeks rebuilding? Are you nuts?” Clark asked incredulously.

Oliver gave a nostalgic smile.  “You wouldn’t understand.”

Clark gave him an odd look.  “You’ve waited this long, surely you can hold out just a little bit longer.”

Not with the end of the first trimester coming up, he couldn’t.

“Can you make up a reason to see her early next week?” he ventured.  “She’s coming up to twelve weeks, so she’ll have the sonogram soon and I need to be there; not just for the baby, but for her.  As much as I already love my child, I love my wife more, and I miss her like crazy.  Could you put in a good word for me?”

“I’ve been putting in a good word for you with every visit, Oliver, you know that,” he said.

“I know, and I’m grateful, I just…” he sighed and ran a hand through his hair.  “What if this is it for us, huh?  What if she gets so comfortable with the idea of us being apart that she no longer sees the need for us to be together?”

“That’ll never happen,” Clark said vehemently.

Oliver shook his head, his expression glum.  “You don’t know that, Clark.  I never thought five weeks would happen, and she’s showing no signs of letting up.”

“She just needs to feel like she’s gotten some semblance of control back,” he explained.  “Don’t you get it?  You pulled all the strings to get this baby conceived, and she had nothing to do with it when she should have had the deciding vote.  She’s just giving you a taste of your own medicine, showing you just how powerless and helpless she felt when she discovered you’d manoeuvred her into a situation she had no power to prevent.”

Oliver grimaced.  Chloe couldn’t have picked a better punishment of she’d tried.  The thought of almost enduring several more weeks of radio silence was too painful to even contemplate.

“God, this hurts so much,” he said miserably.  “Do you think…do you think she intends to freeze me out for the rest of her pregnancy?  Because if she did that, and I missed the birth…”

“No, man.  I’m sure she wouldn’t go that far.”

“If she did, I wouldn’t blame her, but Clark…I’ve already lost more than a whole month with her and our baby.  I’ve missed doctor’s appointments.  The sonogram is coming up any day now, and it would kill me to miss the chance to meet my child for the first time.”

“Oliver –”

“Just…talk to her, would you?” he pleaded.  “I need to be at that scan.  We need to do this together.  Please.”

Clark sighed and nodded.  “I’ll do everything I can, Oliver.  I promise.”

***

Chloe had just finished emptying the contents of her stomach into the toilet when the door buzzed.

“I’ll be there in a minute!” she yelled, slowly getting to her feet.  She rinsed her mouth, splashed water on her face and quickly checked her hair to make sure no stray bits of food had found their way into it, then she stumbled wearily out into the den and opened the security door.

“Clark,” she greeted with a tired smile as she unlocked the grate.  “To what do I owe the pleasure?”

“Just thought you might need these.”  He stepped into the room and held out half a dozen snack boxes.

“More crackers,” she said with a sigh.  “I swear, this kid’s gonna be covered in crumbs when it pops out.”

Clark chuckled and carried them through to the kitchen.  “No Lois today?” he asked.

“She got summoned to a crisis meeting at work,” she replied.  “She’ll be back in a few hours.”

“I see.”   He returned to the den.  “How’re you feeling?”

“Same crap, different day,” she replied miserably, plopping onto the couch.  “Still suffering from morning, noon and night sickness.  Apparently, this kid has no sense of time.”

Clark smiled.  “Maybe it just misses its father.”

“You’re probably not far off,” she agreed.  “I was fine until he left.  The second I bolted the door on him, all the first trimester symptoms hit me like a ton of bricks.  I’m never more than three feet away from the bathroom at any given time.”

“Sorry to hear that,” he empathised.  “It should get better once the first trimester’s over, right?”

“In theory, yes,” she replied.  “So any day from now would be nice.  Hear that, kiddo?” she said loudly, looking down at her stomach.   “Be nice to me!”

“How soon will you know if it’s a boy or a girl?” Clark asked.

She smiled and patted her belly.  “Very soon.  The first sonogram is tomorrow afternoon, and I finally get to see exactly who it is that’s turned my life upside-down.”

“Tomorrow, huh?  That’s great.”  There was a pregnant pause, then he casually said: “Will Oliver be joining you?”

Her smile disappeared and shook her head, her expression resolute.  “He’s not invited.”

"awwwww love that Chloe is bonding with the baby! *heart melts into a puddle of green pudding* "

Green pudding?!?!? Ha-ha!!! :-D

Yeah, Chloe needed to be able to get to grips with her pregnancy without any ill-feelings about her baby's father, which is why Oliver needed to not be around her for now.

"I'm just imagining Oliver's room at the farm filled with pregnancy books ...hahaha .. he's becoming an expert! I am actually glad he is suffering a bit!! *evil grinning* .. Stupid Caveman!"

Let's be honest, he pulled a stupid move and deserves everything he's getting. Even if I want to cuddle him to my bosom and promise him that everything's gonna be alright. ;-)

"Wow Clark actually understands how Chloe feels! Smart boy, Clark!!!"

I know, right? Boy has his uses, after all! :-P

Aw, you almost made me feel sorry for Oliver. Almost.

Clark gets major friend points in this. Letting Oliver stay with him and being there for both of them - not pushing Chloe and telling Oliver what he needs to hear. Thanks for the update! :)

I was mad at Ollie, but now I can't help hoping Chloe will change her mind and will allow him to be there for the sonogram. It's such an important moment. But she seems pretty decided and I can understand why.
I can't wait to know her reaction to the twin pregnancy and I can't wait to know when she will forgive her husband.

Chloe is a merciless judge.
Please do not misunderstand me. I totally understand her reaction and she has every right to be pissed but Oliver always seems more willing to talk when she who is wrong.
I think I'm pretty tolerant of Oliver, even though he obviously does not deserve, like now. But I can not help myself.

Maybe my enormous patience with Oliver is a result of the many stories I read where Chloe committed serious errors like hiding a pregnancy and a son Oliver and forgave her easily.
Maybe it's because I think people also are quick to forgive Chloe when she misses, but when Oliver misses everyone seems to want to see him suffer for a long time.
However, I am pleasantly surprised by Clark being balanced and being a good friend to Chloe and Oliver also.

I feel like an old chicken mother hen defending the selfish baby chicken

And I have to comment on, you know passing emotion in your writing. You're great at it!

Your English is fine, babes. Near perfect, in fact. You should be proud of it. :-)

And now to your review:

"Chloe is a merciless judge. Please do not misunderstand me. I totally understand her reaction and she has every right to be pissed but Oliver always seems more willing to talk when she who is wrong."

Really? I recall him locking her out of the apartment when he thought her kiss with Clark meant something else. She literally had to break in through the window and bare her all, body and soul, to prove that he'd misread the situation.

" think I'm pretty tolerant of Oliver, even though he obviously does not deserve, like now. But I can not help myself.

Maybe my enormous patience with Oliver is a result of the many stories I read where Chloe committed serious errors like hiding a pregnancy and a son Oliver and forgave her easily."

Each fic is different, and each author knows which character traits they'll be focusing on for every piece of fiction that they create. My Funsies Series differs vastly from my Beauty in the Breakdown Series, which in turn varies from my Chlollie Origin story. In that respect, I'll be responding to your comments in the context of this particular story and this series, if that's okay.

"Maybe it's because I think people also are quick to forgive Chloe when she misses

I have to disagree with you here. I watched Chloe go through half of Season 9 alone and abandoned because she tried to take on the world's problems and ended up losing someone she was close to. I watched her turn to guns and weapons to protect herself because Clark, Oliver and the rest of the League cut her off as soon as Henry James Olsen was planted in the ground. I saw her plead with her best friend, the very person whose life she tried so hard to save & who she gave up so much for, not to leave her because she really needed him, only for him to tell her he was dead to her and walk out of her life while she was still grieving. I saw the same friend return for her cousin instead, and proceed to ignore Chloe's calls more than once, even when her life was in danger.

And it wasn't just Clark. Even Oliver didn't want to know her after Failsday, yet she still cared enough about him to kick his hero ass back into action when he buried himself in a bottle. On the day she nearly got turned into a popsicle, Oliver admitted to receiving half a dozen calls from her, none of which he bothered to reply (even though he was happy enough sexting with Dinah).

I'm not saying Chloe didn't make mistakes; of course she did. She should have trusted the team with the information about Davis, although I totally get that she was afraid he might kill them (Davis said as much). But when Clark made the exact same mistake and put all his trust in the enemy, Zod, no-one so much as gave him a slap on the wrist when he monumentally cocked it all up and handed them powers on a plate to enslave earth. He didn't even get a dirty look from anyone!

So, to sum up; no, I don't think anyone was quick to give Chloe a free pass for her judgement errors at all.

More to follow...

"but when Oliver misses everyone seems to want to see him suffer for a long time."

If you have any canon examples of this from the show, please feel free to share. I know Clark's always been a bit of a dick to Ollie (a character flaw which I am desperately trying to redeem here), but from what I recall of Failsday, all the blame for that was laid at Chloe's feet. The only person who blamed Oliver was Oliver. When he experimented with the healing drug back in Season 6, Lois immediately showed her support and was ready to help him battle whatever demons he might be fighting. When he blackmailed Chloe into keeping the whole Lex thing a secret, they never even addressed it, on or off-screen. We all had to wank our own resolution to that hot mess. :-/

One of the things I've tried to do with this series is approach it with brutal honesty and acknowledge all the character strengths and flaws that make these wonderful people who they are. We often forget that Chloe and Oliver's relationship didn't have the most conventional start; they went into it damaged & hurting from previous relationships, and admitted right from the off that all they wanted from each other was sex. I for one am so glad that it all changed into so much more, and this series was my way of filling in the gaps when TPTB refused to show us any Chlollie kisses or sexy moments. We practically had to beg for the kisses in Escape, by which time they were arguing again. It was very frustrating, to say the least.

"However, I am pleasantly surprised by Clark being balanced and being a good friend to Chloe and Oliver also."

I'm hoping he's learned to be less selfish and grown up in the last few months. ;-)

"I feel like an old chicken mother hen defending the selfish baby chicken"

We all do that with the characters we love, don't worry about it. :-)

You mentioned something above about Oliver forgiving Chloe in fics where she's hidden a baby from him; I think I might be able to answer that, or at least try to. It's hard to be mad at a woman when she's holding a baby in her arms, and more often than not, Oliver will be so enraptured with the child that he'll forgive the sins of the mother so that he can focus on bonding with the child. In a weird way, that's what Oliver was hoping for in this instance; that the joy of having a child would overshadow any negative feelings Chloe might have towards him for how he orchestrated her pregnancy. Problem is, the baby's not here yet, so Chloe's got lots of time to be rightly annoyed with what her husband did, especially when she's spewing her guts out morning, noon and night. And possibly also thinking about the pain of labour, and the months of bleeding afterward, not to mention life-long parental responsibility that she expressly and emphatically said she wasn't ready for.

"And I have to comment on, you know passing emotion in your writing. You're great at it!"

Aww, thank you! I really appreciate your kind words, and I love it when something I've written gets a debatable response. It brings out the lawyer in me, as you can see from my very wordy reply! :-D

Thanks again for commenting, babes. For what it's worth, I hope Chloe forgives Oliver soon, too. ;-)

Thanks, I have tried to improve the language although I still confuse me a lot with words.
And also thank you for your attention to answer my comment :)

I understand. Every story a debate. Perfectly understandable.
I have not read all the fics here yet, but I intend to read more. I like to see things in a new light and more texts can give me that.

I think I expressed myself badly before. I meant only the most fanfics and readership. Of course if we discuss about the show on tv, Chloe gone through more hard times than all other characters together. And obviously she sacrificed too much for the good of others without expecting recognition or thanks. I have absolutely nothing to disagree about that.

Well, I suffered with Chloe throughout history with Davis. I was never upset with her for choosing to protect it and not rely on the team. She just followed his instinct to help him because he wanted to see the best in him. and that I can totally understand. I still think Chloe is forgiven more easily. Not on tv but most of the fanfics.

It may not seem now, but I love Chloe. She has always been my favorite character since the first season. No one can compete with her in it.
But after a time reading fanfics, I have a tendency to defend Oliver O.O
Especially when the League is not involved. In these cases, I feel that Oliver does not have much support when he and Chloe discuss. Chloe on the other hand has the unconditional support of Lois. And almost always of Clark too.

Yes, blackmail Oliver did with Chloe testifies against him alone. Well remembered. But I think generally in fanfic, Oliver has a more difficult time when it comes to friendships outside the team. And also with the reading public.

Yes, this series is really honest. And this is one of the reasons I feel the emotion when I read. Only a brutally realistic text can cause such different and even contradictory feelings. This is very interesting!

Ok, I can not argue over physical pregnancy problems, because the symptoms, childbirth and postpartum are indeed scary. And there are the hormones messing with her nervous system...
But as the emotional factor, I think the baby out of the body is not able to solve the problems of a couple magically. I think the fact of having a child in your arms is not enough to heal the wounds that were there before...
That is also why I find it sad that Chloe say the only thing stopping her from get divorced is the baby. They would be doomed to failure if the only thing keeping them together as a couple was the child. Although Chloe has spoken it in a moment of rage and you can not totally take seriously.  Apparently... rs
So I just liked that Oliver was not very hopeful with this speech. ;)

Again, thank you for your attention. I will anxiously await the next chapters :)
Meanwhile, I'll read your other stories...

If you're saying you haven't read the other stories in this series yet, then it explains why you thought Chloe was being harsh in asking Oliver to leave. If you read everything from Just For Funsies, you'll see where the characters are coming from and how it shapes the decisions they've both made in this installment.

It's because she was so badly treated on the show that writers go easy on her in their fanfic stories. She's suffered enough already! :-D And even then, I know a lot of writers who put Chloe in those difficult emotional situations because she's a very complex and intense character, and we love to explore that side of her. So it goes both ways.

"It may not seem now, but I love Chloe.
And almost always of Clark too."

I guess it all needs to be taken in context. If a character has done something morally wrong against someone, of course the 'wronged' person will be supported whilst the offending character will be chastised for their behaviour. And in some cases, what may seem like 'support' of a character is often chastisement in the guise of friendly advice. I'll try and explain. In Love For Realsies, there's a part of the story where Clark is talking to Chloe about her feelings for Oliver, and whilst it may appear that he's being supportive, he's actually telling her a few home truths about herself and how her behaviour can be very unreasonable in some areas. I don't want to say too much in case you haven't read it and don't want spoilers, but the context of a story will dictate who needs emotional support, and why.

"Yes, blackmail Oliver did with Chloe testifies against him alone. Well remembered. But I think generally in fanfic, Oliver has a more difficult time when it comes to friendships outside the team. And also with the reading public."

I think part of the problem is that the writers didn't take time to develop Oliver's character from an emotional standpoint. The show is, after all, primarily about Clark, so any time spent on the character development of a supporting character takes time away from the star of the show. We know Oliver was orphaned at an impressionable age, but we were never really told how that affected him emotionally. He was introduced to us as a womanising playboy, and we were left to draw our own inferences as to how he created friendships with people, both male and female.

"Yes, this series is really honest. And this is one of the reasons I feel the emotion when I read. Only a brutally realistic text can cause such different and even contradictory feelings. This is very interesting!"

Thank you, I'm glad you like it! :-D

"Ok, I can not argue over physical pregnancy problems, because the symptoms, childbirth and postpartum are indeed scary.
Although Chloe has spoken it in a moment of rage and you can not totally take seriously."

In a strange way, sending Oliver away is more beneficial for their relationship at the moment. He's betrayed her trust in a huge way, and to have him around would just make her anger intensify because she's hurting, badly. Space is exactly what she needs, which is why Oliver is giving it to her. None of them want to see a divorce lawyer, but if Oliver had stayed around her a moment longer, that's probably what they would have been heading towards.

"Again, thank you for your attention. I will anxiously await the next chapters :)
Meanwhile, I'll read your other stories..."

You're welcome, and I hope you enjoy them! Thanks again for your comments.

Poor Ollie, now I'm starting to feel a little felt sorry for him.

But I can not blame you Chloe. He betrayed her trust and what's worse is that you do not feel guilty for what he did.

Clark of the rest is showing a lot of patience with Ollie, and not by him. :)

Big Dee, I hope Chloe decides to have a clarification with Oliver as soon as possible and that does not exclude it from seeing the ultrasound.

Aww, I think we all are. He's learning the hard way that there are some things you just don't do to someone you love, especially when its not just such a huge breach of trust, but also something that puts someone else's life at risk. :-\

I think he does now! :-D

It's good that Oliver has someone he can talk to. :-)

I hope so too, babes. Many thanks for commenting! :-)

Clark's been pretty good through this whole thing and I'm glad Oliver appreciates his help. He has to endure the consequences to his actions and not push Chloe because she isn't ready to forgive him. Time is actually on his side if he could just see that. Chloe is bonding with the baby she didn't plan to have and the more that happens she'll reflect back to Oliver and start, at least thinking about letting him back in.
Thanks for the update.
Happy writing.

THIS, so much. Soooo much. If she hadn't sent him away, her bitterness about being deceived would have eaten away at her until she couldn't stand the sight of him. Getting him out of her sight now helps her to come to terms with everything, and by the time she invites him back home, she'll have hopefully gotten all the resentment out of her system. Plus, it gives her time to get used to the child she had no idea she was carrying.

You've hit the nail right on the head Nuff said. :-)

I can't help being sad for Oliver and maybe this is me being the devil's advocate or some kind of "male solidarity" but I can't be mad at him for what he did because his reasons were legitimate even through the way he did it is totally unacceptable.

That said, after what Chloe's putting him through, I bet he isn't going to reiterate anytime soon (or ever). She sure knows how to make him suffer! :)
And please don't put off Chloe's pov any longer, I wanna know what's going on in her head!!

Last thing: As much as I already love my child, I love my wife more, and I miss her like crazy. << Pure Chlollie gold! I always love reading this kind of things because it's just plain awful when you see couples turning their attention solely on their child and no more on each other.

Hope you plan on updating soon, I'm impatient for the reasons above. :)

BOO! :-D

Legitimate or no, you don't deliberately set about making someone pregnant if they're not up for it. :-\

Well he deserves it!

"And please don't put off Chloe's pov any longer, I wanna know what's going on in her head!!"

You'll find out soon enough. :-)

And it happens all too often, unfortunately. But despite all Oliver's string-pulling to get this baby conceived, his wife is still his Number 1 Girl. :-)

"Hope you plan on updating soon, I'm impatient for the reasons above. :)"

I'm a busy girl, so I'll see what I can do...but y'all have to be patient with me, bro. I only got two hands!

Many thanks for your great comments, I really appreciate it. :-)

Awww, can't believe they've been separated that long! Really love how you've written Clark in this story, and his helping Oliver. Really hope Chloe lets Oliver go with her to the first sonogram, excited for the next update :)

Me too. Oliver needs his friends around him right now just as much as Chloe does. :-)

Five weeks and counting. And no pictures? Chloe is good....

Oh Dee! How did you make me so angry at Oliver in prior chapters, then completely sorry for him in this chapter!? I’m glad Oliver is forcing himself to be patient because that’s what Chloe needs, even if it goes against his instincts. I can totally picture Oliver surrounded by baby books and taking notes on where Chloe should be at this stage in her pregnancy.

“Clark smiled. ‘Maybe it just misses its father.’” Love that line. Happy that Clark is such a good friend to Oliver and Chloe. More often than not in Chlollie stories, Clark is not the most insightful or sympathetic person, so with emotions running so high, it’s nice to see that he is someone Oliver and Chloe can count on.

She pulled no punches at all; she was furious with him!

Because even I can't stay mad at Ollie for too long, no matter what he's done. ;-)

It's a lovely thought, even if he's sad at the moment. But at least now he knows what he did was wrong - or rather, how he went about what he did. A Chlollie Baby could never be wrong. :-)

Must confess, I'm also guilty of writing him as a douche on occasion; but I felt that there would be enough negativity between Chloe and Oliver in this instalment without adding in any backtalk from Clark. It's about time he was a supportive friend to them both. :-)

Glad you like, and my sincere apologies for the delay in replying! It's been a busy couple of months. :-)

I love this story - I'm going through all of yours one by one. You might be able to tell. I love Ollie in this one and I understand why he did it but I can't condone it. I feel so bad for Chloe being almost violated like that and I understand her need for him not to be around but not allowing him to be at the sonagram? Are you even allowed to do that?

" I understand her need for him not to be around but not allowing him to be at the sonagram? Are you even allowed to do that?"

The mother can do anything she wants. Technically, it's her baby and hers alone as she's the one who has to take all the risks.

There was a recent case in the UK of a couple who broke up, and shortly afterwards the woman discovered she was pregnant. As she was no longer in a relationship with the father, she wanted to get an abortion. The father sought to bring an injunction against her to prevent her from terminating the pregnancy, claiming he had rights as the child's father to prevent her from doing this. He also added that he had a very low sperm count, and it was a miracle he was able to get his girlfriend pregnant; his doctor even testified that it was a 1/10,000 chance, and he might never be able to father another child.

Unfortunately, the court ruled that expectant fathers have no rights. To give him rights at this stage would mean taking away the mother's rights over her own body, effectively 'forcing' her to have a child against her will, which could never be condoned no matter what the situation. The judge did beseech her to try and mend her relationship with the father, but her mind was made up, and she subsequently got a termination.

I felt so bad for the father, but I understand why the judge had to rule the way he did. Still a sad story, though. :-(

Oliver is learning a harsh lesson here, but at least we already know he and Chloe will have a happy ending. :-)

Wow, that's so sad but I sort of understand why they can't compel it because that would be aweful. But that is so sad for him and the baby. Reminds me of an episode of the Good Wife where they couldn't force the surrogate mother to abort even though it wasn't her baby because the body it was in was hers even though she had promised to abort in that circumstance. All very complicated. Thanks for the information and letting Ollie be there in the end.
