Chapter 28

Clark set her down gently on the bed and, but it didn’t look like she was in the mood for gentle.  She yanked him down on top of her and threaded her hands in his hair, kissing him with a deep, potent hunger.

He wrapped his hands around her and kissed her back with all the emotion that had lain fallow in him for years.  Her hands roved over his body and his over hers, fumbling with clothing and dispensing with it with lightning speed.  Chloe climbed over him and pressed peppered his chest with soft kisses.  Her lips slid to the side and settled over his nipple and she flicked her tongue over the flat nub, making him shudder as arousal phased through his veins.

Her mouth travelled southward over his stomach and lower until her warm breath tickled the course hairs surrounding his turgid flesh.  His hand slid into her hair and he shivered in anticipation as she kissed his upper thighs.

He couldn’t take much more of her teasing.   “Please,” he begged, desperate for the feel of her mouth on him.

Her hand surrounded his steely shaft and she moved her hand on him with firm strokes from base to tip.  His breath came in harsh gasps as she touched him, and when he finally felt the first warm, wet stroke of her tongue, he groaned and tightened his hand in her hair.

Yes,” he hissed, kneading her scalp with his fingers.  “Oh, yes…”

She licked him from base to tip, her tongue swirling wetly around the thick head.  Moisture spilled from him and she licked it away before taking him into her mouth and sucking him hard.

Jesus!” he swore harshly as warm heat and suction surrounded him.

Startled, Chloe lifted her head and stared at him.  “Sorry - should I stop?”

“Don’t you dare!”

“My bad,” she murmured with a grin, and lowered her head to him again.  Her tongue teased the slit as she worked the plump tip, while her fingers caressed the furled skin encasing his balls.  Electricity buzzed through him and he gently urged her forward seeking more of her intimate caress.  She obliged, sliding her lips up and down his shaft and sucking him firmly until he all but whimpered at the intense pleasure she was bringing him.

“Chloe…”  He reached down blindly and lifted her head away from him before pulling her up over his body.  She stared down at him, her eyes questioning.

“I need to be inside you,” he whispered raggedly, draping her thighs over his hips.  His need for her was so great his hands were shaking, but Chloe had matters under control.  She reached between them and guided him into her snug, soft warmth, sighing deeply as he filled her.

It was the most potent homecoming he had ever experienced.  Tears gathered behind his eyelids as he linked his fingers with hers and gently thrust, groaned as she moved on him in perfect counterpoint.

“I love you,” he whispered against her lips as she leaned down to kiss him.

“I love you too, Clark,” she responded softly, clutching his fingers tightly.  “For as long as I’ve known you, I’ve loved you.”

He smiled up at her.  “I know.”

She smiled back, her eyes shining as she made love to him.  This was where he was supposed to be, where they were supposed to be.

Chloe’s thighs clamped his as she moved faster on him and her inner muscles began to ripple and flex around him.  Her voice rose in a loud cry as she came, her orgasm triggering a fierce one of his own.  Waves of desire built and crashed through him in ever-increasing waves and he groaned her name in earnest as he shuddered in ecstasy.

He took several deep breaths as the intensity faded from his frame.  It was a short while later that he realised that the woman in his arms was uncharacteristically quiet.

Slowly he cracked one eye open to look at her, and was surprised to see that she was staring at him with an expression of complete horror.

Hmm.  Not the look he had been hoping for.

“You okay?” he asked, reaching for her hair.  To his complete shock she pulled her head back and tried to scoot off of his lap, but he held her in place and sat up at the same time, so that they were facing each other.

“Chloe?” he asked, concerned at the stricken look on her face.  “Chloe, what is it?”

“What did you call me?” she said in a hoarse whisper.

“Huh?”

“When we were…” she swallowed hard.  “Just now – what name did you call me?”

He frowned.  “I…called you Chloe---”

“No, you called me Eris,” she said, her eyes darkening with rage and fury.  “Who the fuck is Eris, Clark?”

***

His eyes widened and he gave a huge sigh of relief.  “Aaahhh….Wow…”

“Oh, my God,” she moaned in horror, fresh pain filling her eyes.  “How could you?”

“I didn’t even realise I’d said it---”

“You make me sick!” she screamed and tried to scramble off the bed.

“Chloe wait; let me explain…” he began, trying to hold her hands, but she whacked them away.

“Explain what?” she thundered.  “Why you’re having sex with me and thinking about somebody else?  You disgusting pig!”

“There’s no-one else, Chloe, I swear!”

She gave a harsh, bitter laugh.  “You know, it’s considered really rude to scream out the name of one woman when you’re fucking another!”

“The only came I called was yours!” he insisted.  “I’m not seeing anyone else, you know I’m not.”

“Then who’s Eris?”

“It’s Aerhys.”

“What-the-fuck-ever.  Who is she?” she asked with a stony glare.

“She’s you,” he said with a smile, holding her face and looking directly into her eyes.   “You’re Aerhys,” he said.  “It’s your Kryptonian name.”

Her narrowed eyes suddenly widened, and she remembered Gabby’s words when they were at the Fortress:

He said it was Dad’s responsibility to name his mate.

Clark was supposed to have given her a Kryptonian name – and he appeared to have done so without even realising it.

“What does it mean?” she asked quietly.

He smiled.  “Beloved,” he whispered.  “True one…” he got off the bed and she frowned as he reached under it into the far corner.  Her frown deepened as he got back into bed with a palm-sized box.  He took a deep breath and opened the lid, then slowly lifted out a wide, silver-like bracelet set with a rhombus-shaped turquoise stone.

He met her gaze, and offered it to her.  “…Soulmate.”

She stared at the bracelet and then back at him.  “I’m your Soulmate?” she finally managed.

“You always have been,” he said.  “I’m just sorry it took me so long to figure it out.”

“Huh,” she mused.  “And my…my new name…?”

“Aerhys Kal-El,” he confirmed.  “That’s who you are to me.  I didn’t even realise when it came out of my mouth, but it’s perfect.  You’re perfect.”

She blushed and smiled, and he held out the bracelet to her.

“So do you want this, or not?”

She regarded the object with a suspicious frown.  “I assume that’s Kryptonian jewellery,” she mused.

“It’s more than just jewellery, Chloe,” he explained.  “It’s the symbol of the Kryptonian lifebond.”

“So this is essentially…an engagement ring…?”

“And a wedding ring, all rolled into one,” he finished.

She nodded, suitably impressed.  “Did Jor-El give it to you, or was it with you in your ship?”

“Neither.”

“Then where did you get it?” she queried.  “It’s not like Kryptonian artefacts are two for a tenner in any old thrift store.”

He laughed.  “I’ve had it for years and years now; since I was sixteen or seventeen, I think,” he said.  “It was given to me by Joseph Willowbrook.”

Her brow furrowed in thought.  “The Kawatche elder?”

He nodded.  “He told me of its Kryptonian origins, and said I was to give it to the True One in my life.  I have no doubt in my mind that that’s you.”

He held out the bracelet to her and she extended her hand willingly.  But just before he could slide it on, she snatched her arm back.

“If you’re asking me to marry you, Clark, then do it properly,” she huffed.  “I may not be a conventional girl, but I at least expect you to give me that.”

He gave a mock scowl.  “Fine.  Chloe Sullivan, will you marry me?”

“Not when you’re asking me like that, no!” she said with a pout, and folded her arms.

He sighed and rolled his eyes.  “Okay.  Chloe, you’re beautiful and I love you.  “Will you do me the honour of being my wife?”

“Gettin’ there, but not quite,” she said airily and swung her legs off the edge of the bed.  Clark quickly got to his feet, but just as quickly dropped down onto one knee and took her left hand in his.

“You are my life, Aerhys Kal-El,” he said quietly.  “You are the air that I breathe, and the life that sustains me.  Bond with me, so that our two hearts may unite.  You are my Destiny.”

Fresh tears rolled down her face and she nodded.  “I have no idea what you just said…but yes,” she managed.  “Yes, I will.”

He blinked.  “Uh…was I speaking in Kryptonian again?”

She nodded, and he dropped his face into his palm.  “I don’t know why that’s happening,” he said, helplessly.  “It must be some innate reaction to cementing the lifebond.  But for what it’s worth, I’m glad your soul understood what I was saying.”

“Not sure if I actually understood; I could hazard a guess, but it was more like a feeling,” she explained.  “It felt like…you were saying something about unity and destiny and our lives as one life…something like that?”

He grinned.  “You truly are my Soulmate,” he whispered, and slid the bracelet onto her hand.

Chloe stared down at the unusual piece of jewellery and smiled.  “So…technically, we’re married.”

He nodded.  “Yup.”

She raised a brow at him.  “You do know you still have to get me a ring, and take me to church, or court…?”

He sighed.  “To fulfil all expectations, yes,” he answered.  “But you and I know that we’re bonded for life, in here.”  He pressed her hand to his heart.  “You’re my wife, Chloe.”

She grinned.  “And you’re my husband.  And you named me.”

“I did.  Do you like it?”

She nodded.  “I love it.  I just wish…” she trailed off and traced the ridges of the bracelet on her wrist, turning it round and round.  “I just wish it hadn’t taken us so damned long…we wasted so much time,” she sniffed, and he took her hands and rubbed them with his thumbs.

“Hey, hey…what did we just say about regrets and stuff?” he said sternly.

She glanced up at him sheepishly.  “That they’re best left in the past, and we should concentrate on keeping  each other happy.”

“Exactly.  So what do you say we keep each other happy some more?” he suggested with sly grin, trailing his fingers down her cleavage.  “Because you do know it’ll be a long time before we get the house to ourselves like this.”

“You know…you do make an excellent point every now and then, and this is one of those times,” she mused.

“So you’re willing to take me up on it?”

She wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled as the stone in her bracelet twinkled and shone.  “Totally.  Make me happy, Clark.”

The bracelet, the bracelet, THE BRACELET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"You are my Destiny.”

Okay, this was so beautiful, and yet part of me started giggling at Clark as George McFly. "I'm your Density!" hee

Exactly. So what do you say we keep each other happy some more?” he suggested with sly grin, trailing his fingers down her cleavage. “Because you do know it’ll be a long time before we get the house to ourselves like this.”

Yeesh, Amen to that one. It is actually supremely unfair that they got to skip the years of we-can't-have-sex-because-our-toddler-is-sleeping-on-our-heads, and can just get their pre-teen to super-speed all the way to Canada when they want alone time. Why Daphne didn't come with super-powers, I just don't know. ;-)

She wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled as the stone in her bracelet twinkled and shone. “Totally. Make me happy, Clark.”

You're making ME happy with this story, anyway!! *happy sigh*
