Cause of death is not yet confirmed, but he apparently died alone and foul play is not suspected.

Heartbreaking news indeed.  My thoughts are with his family and loved ones.

It's so heartbreaking. He was too young to just die like that. :-(

Very sad indeed and I wonder if drugs were a factor?

My thoughts are with his family and friends.

He'd struggled with drug addiction in the past, and he was just out of rehab. I wouldn't be surprised if he'd suffered a relapse.

This is horrible. :-(

Regrettably, yes. Cory's gone. :-(

Autopsy's scheduled for tomorrow; maybe then we'll get some answers.

The "married in 2 weeks" is a rumor.

Sadly he died of a heroin/alchohol overdose. What a waste.

It's so unreal. He was so young, and all the tributes pouring in are testament to how nice he was as a person away from the cameras.

Prayers for his family and loved ones to endure this tragic loss. :-(

Drug addictions are bad. As I've heard a rehabbing abuser say, "If you continue to use drugs, you end up in jail, psychotic, or dead - The Big House, the bughouse, or a box."

Unfortunately it was a box for Cory. :(

I'm still holding out hope that maybe it wasn't drugs. I know nothing will bring him back, but it may make things easier for his loved ones if his death was purely accidental and not down to substance abuse.

Sad. :-(

I saw this on some of the gossip sites yesterday and was really hoping it was a rumor at first. How sad and shocking. From all accounts, he was a very nice and friendly guy, despite the addiction issues.

I also hope his death was something besides drugs. I know that was hard for me, when mourning my cousin. It's so much harder to grieve when you feel angry at the person you lost for having a hand in their own death. I don't like that feeling and I don't wish it on his loved ones.

I wonder if anyone's checked the minibar in the room for ammonia leaks? It's very rare, but sometimes the gas canister in a mini-fridge can develop a leak, which if unchecked can leak into the room and be potentially fatal. I heard about a woman who was throwing up all night in hotel room, not realising that the pungent smell in the room came from the mini-fridge.

If that were the case, the smell would have been detected as soon as anyone walked into the room; who knows? Maybe it's part of the investigation, but that's just me reaching because I really don't want Cory to have relapsed.

Unfortunately, we were wrong; his death has been attributed to an alcohol & heroin overdose.

No good can come from doing drugs. Period.

I feared as much. You know, putting his drug use aside, all accounts say he was a sweet and generous man. As much as that makes it harder to lose him, it also helps if you believe in the afterlife. Addiction is a sickness and often a predisposition and he was a victim of it. He had a good heart and I'd like to think Cory is at peace and rewarded for all the good he tried to do to others even while he hurt himself.

It took me so long to mourn my cousin as I had to get over the anger first. She played around with prescription drugs, which are legal, but not the way she got them. It makes me so sad that someone can get to that point even now. But I think most people are misled, thinking they are the exception, that THEY can handle it.

I am mostly anti-drug, though I am all for legalizing marijuana (though I don't use it myself) as we've never had a deadly maryjane overdose, but everyone should stop and think about what their putting into their bodies. Pot might be harmless in itself but it can be a "gateway drug" to those predisposed to addiction. Those are the people that could seek "better" or greater highs and they should think before trying anything, including drinking to excess.

Ugh. I don't want to soapbox here. I don't know how to feel. Just angry and cheated and sad. I feel for him, I feel for his loved ones. I feel for so many people dealing with addiction in their lives and their families. I just hope he's at peace now.

This is absolutely heartbreaking, he was so young and had so much to look forward to. Poor Lea, I can't even begin to imagine what she's going through. Now she is do back soon to being shooting Glee. I don't know how she's going to handle that.

It looks like the press have allowed her to grieve in private, which is one small thing to be grateful for. It'll be extremely difficult for her to return to work on the Glee set; for all of them, to be honest.

I know his death will have to be addressed on the show as soon as production begins, and I hope they do so honorably. Unfortunately, Ryan Murphy is known for pilfering plot points from the real lives of his cast members, so I really hope he doesn't doesn't exploit their grief or Cory's struggles with addiction to get ratings for his show. That would be horribly disrespectful, and downright despicable.

Such a waste of a young life. Poor Cory. May God help heal the pain of the loved ones he left behind. :-(
