There were some good parts, to be sure, but the flaws just seemed to outweigh them, in my opinion. The plane rescue in the beginning was the most intense action scene in the film, so it peaked way too early. Lois was portrayed as an unfit mum who pawned her kid off on an unsuspecting Richard (what mother forgets her child in school for hours?), and Clark/Superman was a stalker who constantly eavesdropped on Lois. And how the dickens could they turn the poor preschooler into a killer??? Considering Clark/Superman's stance on killing, that was completely unforgivable. Yes, he did it to protect his mum, but still...no. Just no.

I liked the island scene a whole lot, although it might be much darker than the plane rescue. Lex's evil plan was delightfully...evil, and the music was awesome, although I know not many people pay attention to that.

He didn't occur to me as stalker-ish, but since I'm a guy, I'm going to shut up before someone rip me apart.

I'm more familiar with the novelization (because I have a copy of that but not the film), in which it was Lois who killed the thug in self-defence, although I recall in the film Jason shoved a piano into him. Was it ever shown that he is dead...?

Now, that's a ~~Superman~~, I'm sorry *Man of Steel* I'll probably watch! And mind you, I'm not really a Superman girl, in the sense that I simply never cared about him, limiting it to DC heroes/anti-heroes I'm a Batman/Bruce Wayne girl. BUT for this very fine specimen of the human race, I think I'm gonna make an exception and watch my first Superman movie (Smallville is the only other Superman telling I watched and I blame my sis and 99% Chloe for that, 'cuz before my sis I didn't even check it out for James Marsters, and I LOVE him!)

Now, we can picture Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel/Superman/Clark Kent and succumb to totally undignified drooling. :D

Yes James Marsters is a god I worship on this planets and Chloe was an awesome character :) but I'm right there with you when it come to Superman, I was really never that into him while Batman and x-man were it for me. But I'll watch for this sexy beast.
