Yeah, I know I promised not to start anything new until I’d made some progress with my WIPs, but I have this problem. Whenever I go too long without writing some Chlollie, I develop this nervous twitch. Seriously; it’s like my fingers get all itchy and insistent and won’t let me be until I’ve written some good Chlollie fic. sanaazzy posted this awesome manip way back in January last year, I’ve been dying to write a fic to go with it. And now I have!
So here we are, back in the Funsies-verse with this little ficlet. Or rather, it was *supposed* to be a oneshot ficlet, but it’s turned into what I think will be three chapters. Y’all don’t mind, do you? :-/ If we’re lucky, I can get it all posted within a week. If we’re lucky. :-P
Anyway, this fic is called Pillow Talksies, and it picks up where Love For Realsies left off - with Oliver and Chloe happy and in bed, recently reunited after a two-week separation that nearly drove them both to drink. (This actually takes place before the already-penned oneshot Over The Linesies).

Chapter 1
“Oliver…” Chloe said in a throaty murmur as her boyfriend’s mouth travelled down her neck.
“Mmm-hmm…” he licked her lightly, and a little shiver of excitement ran through her.
“Ollie…I know you’ve been banned from driving for 72 hours, but that’s no excuse to spend every single one of them in bed.”
“I don’t see why not; we haven’t made love to each other for weeks,” he immediately argued.
“Haven’t you ever heard the expression pace yourself?” she asked wryly.
“Oh come on, now,” he drawled as his tongue traced smooth circles around her nipple. “You know you love every minute of it.”
She gasped and struggled to stay focused on the conversation, or what there was of it. When Oliver worked his magic on her, rational thought tended to evaporate rather rapidly.
“But we’ve only just got back together,” she continued, and Oliver threw his hands in the air in frustration and lifted his head.
“Precisely my point!” he insisted. “Do you have any idea how much I missed you?”
“Of course I do; I missed you too,” she said gently, resting her hand on his cheek. “And while we’ve patched things up, I’d…still like us to talk about one or two things.”
He sighed. “Like what?”
She paused and scratched her head, and he stared at her with undisguised incredulity.
“You stopped me from making love to you to talk about…what, exactly?” he asked with a quizzically raised brow.
She shrugged. “I dunno…anything. Everything.”
His eyes twinkled. “Can we talk about sex?”
She sighed. “Ollie…”
“Let’s talk about sex, baby, let’s talk about you and me…” he sang gleefully.
She frowned. “Actually, that’s not a bad idea.”
“…let’s talk about all the good things - say what?”
“You wanna talk about sex, we’ll talk about sex,” she said with a smile.
Oliver folded his arms. “I was joking,” he said. “I mean, come on, Chloe. After everything we’ve done in this bed, don’t you think it’s a little late for you to learn the finer details of the facts of life?”
“Sex is a lot more than Tab A into Slot B, Ollie; you taught me that,” she said quietly.
The teasing look went out of his eyes, and he took her hands. “You’re right. I’ll take this more seriously.”
“Well, not too seriously, I hope.”
He chuckled, and lifted her hand to his mouth for a quick kiss. “Okay, go for it. Whaddaya wanna know?”
She paused. “What’s it like when you make love to me?”
He grinned. “Amazing.”
She rolled her eyes. “I mean, how does it make you feel?”
“Oh, how do I feel?” he repeated, and thought briefly. “It like…coming home; a warm feeling of wholeness and just…belonging,” he said softly. “I’ve never experienced that with anyone else, and even with the few women that I’ve been fairly close to, that rightness…that sense of knowing I’m where I’m meant to be…it was never there.”
She stared into his eyes as he took her hand and caressed it gently. “But it is with you, and only you,” he went on. “So yeah…I guess that’s how I feel when I make love to you.”
Chloe smiled and her heart felt warm, as if she were glowing on the inside. Yes, she was definitely satisfied with that answer.
“Next question: What was going through your mind the first time that we made love?” she asked.
“You mean when it was meant to be ‘just sex’?” he said, and smiled. “Yeah, that didn’t work, not even then. I picked up on the sense of rightness almost immediately and wanted to take it further.”
“Seriously?”
He nodded. “Mmm-hmm, but you wouldn’t let me; don’t you remember?” he said. “Every time I tried to kiss you, you’d avert your face, right from the first night.”
“But you did kiss me on the first night,” she interjected.
“Yes I did, but not right after I’d just made love to you,” he said gently. “And that went on for months. Anytime I said or did anything even halfway intimate, you’d cut me off or negate it with some flippant comment. It was like there was this brick wall between us that was about twelve inches thick. I could understand how it had gotten there after everything you’d been through with Clark, but you were so afraid to let me even try to break those walls down.”
He smiled and tenderly stroked her hair. “And this is where I would have asked about you and Clark, but since we’ve already had that discussion, I’ll ask something else. When did you first realise you were falling in…” he paused and rephrased his words: “…that I was more to you than just a sexy comfort blanket?”
She laughed and shyly lowered her gaze. “It was the morning after you found out that I took the money for the weapons, she replied.
“When I cooked you breakfast?”
She nodded. “We talked about our families, and I told you about how I always lose everyone I love,” she whispered. “You took me in your arms and said that I would never lose you, and I thought: Oh God, how did ‘just sex’ ever turn into this?”
He nodded grimly. “Oh yeah, I remember that one,” he said grimly. “I remember your reply, too, that you could never lose me because you didn’t love me.” He winced at the memory. “Yeah, that one stung, Chloe.”
“I’m sorry,” she apologised. “I was just so scared…”
“I know…I know,” he whispered, kissing the top of her head. “I understood how you felt, but I was so sure I could coax you out from behind that wall of fear that I…” he stopped, and a look of guilt briefly flashed across his face.
“You what?” she pressed.
He took a deep breath. “Ah well, might as well get it all out in the open. I launched a plan to get you to fall in love with me.”

“A plan?” she repeated, baffled. “What do you mean? What plan?”
His brow furrowed as he cast his mind back. “Let’s see…remember when your power tripped out, and we ended up having a candlelit lobster dinner out of Wedgewood china plates?”
She smiled at the memory. “Yeah, that was pretty romantic, I must admit.”
He reddened. “Well…the truth is, you power didn’t exactly trip out.”
Her eyes widened in sudden realisation. “You flipped the breaker switch!” she gasped.
He grinned. “Guilty.”
“Oliver!”
“Hey, you left me no choice!” he argued. “If I’d asked you out to a fancy restaurant, would you have gone with me?”
“Well…no,” she admitted. “But still…you tricked me!”
“And you had a great time,” he pointed out. “Didn’t you?”
She sighed. “I did.” Then she frowned and then sat up suddenly. “Hey, that was the first time you stayed over, wasn’t it?”
He grinned. “You catch on fast.”
“You planned that?” she exclaimed. “I thought that happened by accident because we ate too much!”
“Told you it was a grand plan,” he said smugly. “And when Clark walked in on us the following morning, I couldn’t have been happier. I got Phase One and Phase Two initiated and completed in one night.”
“Wait, what? Slow down,” she chided. “There were phases? Well, what was Phase One?”
“Just to get you to relax and do date-like, coupl-y things with me like dinner by candlelight, and staying over,” he replied. “Phase Two was about getting our relationship out in the open.”
“But I said I wanted to keep it quiet!”
“Yeah, and I was getting tired of being your dirty little secret,” he shot back. “We’re not children, Chloe. Even if all were doing was fooling around, there was no reason for us to hide it. It’s not like we owe anybody an explanation or anything.”
She sighed. “I guess not,” she finally replied. “And Phase Three - if there was a Phase Three - what was that?”
“Strengthening our union through a joint commitment,” he answered without hesitation.
She blinked. “And how were you planning to execute that? By asking me to move in with you?”
His face reddened, and he sheepishly scratched the back of his head.
“Ah…no. The fluffy, cuddly physical manifestation of Phase Three is er…hanging out on the Kent Farm with Shelby as we speak.”
