Awww, what a sweet and sexy slice of old-school Chlark! *Sighs nostalgically*
It was so much fun to see Chloe as the snarky, smart, inquisitive reporter we all loved, and that easy Chlark friendship which was always just this side of simmering over into something else.
“Can I try my hands on your tool, Clark?” she purred.
His head snapped up so fast he thought he’d cracked a vertebra. “What?” he said, startled.
Hee! I can imagine the terrified expression on Clark's face. And I would have loved to see how Chloe would have reacted if he'd somehow let slip who he'd been "dry humping" at the Talon.
I adored the playful!Chlark at the end, too:
...he picked up a handful of hay and flung it in her direction. Chloe artfully ducked, and ran squealing toward the relative safety of the farmhouse where his mother was about to serve up some prize-winning pecan pie.
*Gets all misty* Nothing beats Chlark and pie. Those were the days.
Thank you, Dee, for taking me back to the good times! :)
